James Barnes
I’m James Barnes. I make software that brings order to messes: hairy archives, a publisher’s whole catalog, a magazine’s back issues.
Some recent projects I’m fond of include Deadsound, an app for finding shows and tapes in the Grateful Dead’s live archive; Still Alive, a magazine about people you may be surprised to learn are still alive; and Radio Free Aquarium Drunkard (opens in a new tab), an iPhone radio station for the music journal Aquarium Drunkard.
I take on a few projects a year, mostly websites and apps, plus the odd unclassifiable thing. Get in touch.
